1. Keep cauliflower white with milk
You can keep cauliflower’s white color and enhance its sweetness by adding 1 cup of milk when cooking it.
2. Retain the green peas original colour
To retain the green intense colour of your boiled peas add a pinch of baking soda to the boiling water.
3. Get most juice out of lemon / orange
Take a whole lemon and roll it on the counter. Apply enough force to squeeze down on the lemon but do not smash the lemon so hard that it breaks. Rolling the lemon in this manner breaks the membranes in the flesh of the lemon, causing the juice to spill out more easily
4. To fix salty food add a pinch of baking soda, it will absorb extra salt
5. Storing raw yolk
Leftover raw egg yolks should be put in airtight containers and stored in the refrigerator immediately. To prevent yolks from drying out, cover them with a little cold water or some oil.
